 General information

Our school  is going to celebrate 375 years from its foundation on the 12th of June in 2010. We congratulate all students and teachers on this occasion.

 There are 137 pupils and 22  teachers in our school in 2009-2010 school year.

  

History

   The first school in Seredzius was founded about 1634 – 1635. It was wooden. It was situated by the river Nemunas, near the church. In 1829 the flood destroyed the school and the church.    In 1853 the school was restored again. There were 74 pupils in the school.    In 1918 the school had four classes. In 1944 the school was burnt.    The school was opened in the barracks. It is in the same buildings until now. In 1951 – 1953 the school had seven classes. In 1955 the school became the secondary school.    From 1999 until now our school has only ten classes.

 Our school year has three terms:

The first term: September 1 – November 30

The second term: December 1 – February 27

The third term: March 1 – May 28 ( for 1 – 5 and 10  forms)

                               March 1 – June 11 ( for 6 – 9 forms )

Winter holiday: 23 December, 2009 – 6 January, 2010

Spring holiday: 29 March, 2010 – 2 April, 2010

2nd lesson: 09.25 – 10.10

3rd lesson: 10.20 – 11. 05

4th lesson: 11.20 – 12.05

5th lesson: 12.20 – 13.05

6th lesson: 13.15 – 14.00

7th lesson: 14.10 – 14.55

COMENIUS

 We are in the COMENIUS project again. It will continue  two school years. The project ,,Fair Play in Sport – Fair Play in Life‘‘ aims to promote and disseminate honest and constructive behaviour in sport.

 The primary school in Crotone, Italy is the coordinator of this project. Our partners are schools from Germany, Turkey, Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania, Belgium. Some teachers and pupils from 7 – 10 forms take part in the project. We will visit Italy, Belgium, Germany, Turkey. Our last meeting will be in Portugal in spring, 2011.
